I had the pleasure to host a freestyle cypher recently with some of the most talented hip-hop artists in town. It was truly amazing to see these artists be creative and freestyle over beats that I had picked out. I provided them with a few beats, and they all chose one that spoke to them, and each rapper took a turn freestyling in full cypher style.
The energy in the room was electric. Each rapper seemed to feed off of the others’ energy, and a few even started to collaborate with each other and form some kind of collective. It was like a battle of words between the MCs, and the collective energy was something that I had never seen before. It was truly remarkable to be in the presence of such talent.
The cypher lasted for close to two hours, and at the end, there were some amazing moments that I’ll never forget. The enthusiasm and passion that each artist brought to the cypher was evident. I was honored to provide the platform for these artists to express themselves and create such a powerful moment.
All in all, the cypher was a major success, and the talent was incredible. It’s moments like these that make me so proud to be able to provide an outlet for some of the most creative hip-hop artists in town. Whether it’s a formal cypher or a simple jam session, I love that I can provide an environment for growth and development for these artists. It will be a moment that I will never forget.
